It means European Youth Pilgrimage and it will be held from 3 to 7 August 2022 in Santiago de Compostela.

  • Who can participate in PEJ22?

All teenagers and young people between 15 and 35 years old who are duly registered via the Youth Ministry Office of their national dioceses, movement, congregation or secular institute. People older than 35 can participate provided that you are a priest, nun, monk, monitor or leader of a youth ministry in charge of a youth group.

  • How do I register?

To participate at PEJ22, please contact the Youth Ministry Office for your dioceses, or the youth manager for the movement, association, congregation or secular institute in your country. If you are unable to contact them, just send us an email at info@pej22.es  and we will put you in touch.

  • Who is organising PEJ22?

PEJ22 is convened by the Archdiocese of Santiago de Compostela, jointly with the Subcommittee for Young People and Children of the Spanish Episcopal Conference.

  • Where will we sleep during PEJ22?

The PEJ22 organisers will assign each group a series of accommodations according to the capacity and availability of each lodging and the characteristics of each group. The accommodations will be schools, conference halls, youth hostels and other lodging in the city of Santiago de Compostela.

  • What will we do during PEJ22?

From 3 to 7 August, Santiago de Compostela will become the young city of culture for all of Europe. There will be a wide variety of events: catechism, workshops, talks, concerts, theatre, performances, live music, etc. In other words, we will have time to pray, to celebrate, to grow and to share with young people from all of Spain and from several European countries, especially Portugal, Italy and France.

  • Do I need to look for accommodation?

During the days of the PEJ22 (3 to 7 August), accommodation is included with the registration fee for pilgrims. For the days before PEJ, the days on the Way, we are helping to coordinate accommodations in different municipalities. If you would like more information, please contact caminos@pej22.es

  • I want to do the Camino de Santiago – Way of St James – how do I sign up?

The PEJ22 organisers will not be doing the Camino de Santiago – Way of St James – so please contact your organisation, which we bet is preparing something really cool 😉
